Fear me mortals, for I am the Anointed, the favoured Son of Chaos, the Scourge of the World. The armies of the gods rally behind me, and it is by my will and by my sword that your weakling nations shall fall.

The Lost Maiden

The Lost Maiden - A tragic tale. . .

She was a beautiful young girl who’s life was unfortunately to become a plaything of the chaos gods. Born blind, she learned how to survive, being a resident of the far flung planet of Null, lying on the outer most reaches of known space. . .

The girl had the misfortune of wanting to travel amongst the stars, Null is a frozen planet and entirely hostile to live on and so it was with the mind of seeking a better way of life that the girl stowed away on a merchant vessel. . .

The vessel unshielded as it was fell pray to the creatures of the warp, the girl’s fate however was decided by the chaos god Slaanesh, the god saw something in her divine beauty, and decided to make her his plaything. . .

Knowing nothing of the universe apart from the planet Null, being as it is completely blank to the warp for reasons unknown, the girl had no concept of other such beings, thus it was that Slaanesh was able to take her and mould her in his image without any concept of this event being known to the girl. . .

Father Nurgle learned of this beautiful creature who now, albeit unknowingly served Slaanesh, with the knowledge of the girl, father Nurgle took it upon himself to steal the girl away from Slaanesh, jealous as he was of the girl as a plaything. . .

To deceive the girl, father Nurgle sent a plaguebearer to visit her, under the influence of a powerful glamour, the daemon appeared to her as an elderly woman, bearing a lantern, this she told the girl would light the way and allow her to see, even though she was blind. . .

All that the elderly woman asked of the girl was that she picked an almighty flower for her, knowing not of her transformation or the true identity of the old women, the girl reached out with a claw and picked the flower, in fact, she had just removed the head of the plaguebearer. . .

It was at this point that father Nurgle’s plan came into fruition, the girl picked up the lantern as promised by the elderly woman, even as she did, the corruption of father Nurgle started to spread through the lantern and through her claw arm that had just removed the plaguebearer’s head. . .

It is to this day, that she wanders on the frozen planet of Null anathema to daemons as it is, her own complete lack of awareness of her true nature shielding her from this, her lantern, cruel a bell of plagues in reality, guiding her through her dark world and lighting the way for this unfortunate puppet of the dark gods. . .

New arrival

Hi, I'm Gabe, new to this blog, although I've been posting to the group page on Facebook for a little while. I feel quite honoured to have been invited to join this esteemed group of hobbyists so I hope that I don't disappoint. . .

I've been working on this little lady for some time now, it was only recently that I felt I could pick her up again and finish her off after a bit of a stumbling block in my life, I'm feeling I've got my hobby flow back so hopefully you'll see a lot more from me on here in the near future. . .

So here I present the first of my harpies, enjoy. . .

A special featuring.... Mister Vader's warband

Hello!

I'm Jeff Vader and Legatho/Manu has kindly asked to present my chaos related warhammer stuff on this fabulous blog. I mostly focus on 40k but have recently done quite a few fantasy themed models. There's something that makes chaos more compelling in the fantasy setting - purer somehow.

We start with my nurglii warband, led by the egregious champion Mawgut Gloop.

His lieutenant Skytho Spasmodius and standardbearer Fladdrus Flatulus.

A heavily mutated chaos thug (or beastman - it's hard to tell) and two chaos gobbos who have sort of just tagged along.

When the winds of magic grow strong they're also joined by the daemon Poxgut.

There's also a third chaos warrior in the works, plans for more beastmen and a big guy or two -perhaps a heavily converted minotaurs or chaos trolls. Or one of each.

So that's the Nurgle part of my foray into the Realm of Chaos.
But I've also started work on a rival tzeentchean warband. The only model done so far is the Champion Mandragore Warpfeather.

I'm taking a lot of inspiration from Realm of Chaos: Lost and the Damned for these two projects. The idea is to create warbands with an oldschool feel but mainly built from the new plastics.

Hope you all dig!

Cheers

A non chaotic step into the Age Of Sigmar

I'm havin a short break with chaos and start paintting some sigmarites.... in oxyde colours....

Thinking of them as the Emperor Qin's army of terracotta soldiers or the Golden army from Hellboy 2 .... they were "sleeping" for centuries waiting for the Age Of Sigmar...

Now that they are painted, they make me almost like the Atlanteans, hauled out to fight.

I'm very pleased with the result... You want the same scheme? Here's my step by step tutorial :

Step one, the base colours:

Step 2 Seraphim Sepia on the gold, the purity seal and the brown,
Leviathan purple + medium on the blue

Step 3 Highlight with shining gold

Step 4 Nuln oil on the blue and Reikland fleshshade on the purity seal

Drybrush of Ryza rust on the hammer, Nihilakh oxide on the rest of the mini

And I use the same for the shields.... Enjoy !
